    Getting Started

I just switched over from 5.10 Ubunto Breezy to Kubuntu  hoping for an easier transition. I want to give this PC to my daughter and without complicating  things
I want to give her shortcuts for:

    1) open office
    2) Firefox
    3) Acrobat reader or the equivalent
    4) CD burner
    5) Real Player or equivalent
    6) IM or is it GAIM for messaging
How can I set this up so that she does notask me to go out and support Bill again.

    Thanks

    Re: Getting Started

Kubuntu uses KDE and it has the K menu, which is just like the Start menu in windows, but programs are much more organized, they're automatically grouped into subgroups. Here's a screenshot:

Also all those programs in the K menu can easily be put onto the desktop by right clicking on one of them and selecting "Add item to Desktop"
