I am running (Kubuntu 9.10) and have intel onboard sound (HDA Intel STAC92xx Analog). It tries to fall back on (HDA Intel STAC92xx Digital). When it tries to fall back on the alternate driver it disables the sound all together. I log out and back on to reinitialize the analog driver...is there a fix that I can use to always use my alsa analog driver so it does not shut my sound off...help please

Re: Kubuntu 9.10 alsa driver problem
In System Settings > Multimedia, you need to re-arrange the sequence with Pulseaudio first, HDA Intel (STAC92xx analog) second, and (STAC92xx digital) third. Then it will fall back to analog.
Test each one with the "test" button. ON mine, digital does not work, but the other two do.
