Can't see my HP Jetdirect 300x on the network

    Hi All,
My first post as I have only just loaded K 9.10 64bit onto a Phenom II computer I built specially as my Linux machine (yes it has enough RAM for 64 bit - 4 GB).
My first problem (of many I'm sure) is that although I can see the other computers on my wired network I can't find my HP Jetdirect 300x print server and therefore can't print anything of course.
Can anyone suggest how I might find it?
    Thanks,
    David

Another option is to install the hplip package and run hp-setup.
That should give you some additional functionality.

I'll try the hplip package I think and let you know how it works.
        Many thanks,
        David

          Code:
          sudo apt-get install hplip

          and then
          Code:
          kdesudo hp-setup
