    installed Conky, now what? [SOLVED]

    OK, I installed conky, (being a big Trailer Park Boys fan) - and it runs by itself whenever I turn on the laptop (running Kubuntu 9.1)...

    My question turns out to be a few questions about it;

    1. what do I do with it now? it runs by itself once the desktop is loaded, and if I click on the desktop screen, it disappears - but is still running...

    2. how do I turn it off, do I need to, is it a resource hog,

    3. what could I use it for? I'm certainly not taking full advantage of Kubuntu yet, so I'm eager to learn more about both the operating system, and add-ins like Conky.

    I guess this is as close to a "conky tutorial" as I know of:

    It has other links. I recall spending an entire weekend earlier this year figuring out how to make it work, and developing my conky (I was already a little obsessive, and conky will make you worse). Somewhere on that thread is posted the one that I came up, which I'm still running.

    I've never known how to "turn it off" -- if you figure that out, post your method. The only thing I know to do is to rename the ~/.startconky file so it doesn't load at login.
