how to re-activate desktop panel?

tonight I accidentally turned off the 'desktop panel' - while trying to modify it - now I can't figure out how to make it appear again.

Can anyone explain how to get the desktop panel back?

Ok I figured it out - add widget - folder panel....

and from now on I'll remember to lock the widgets once I get them placed...
