    Good introduction to linux?

I switched over to linux a while ago and have been using it with contentment ever since. The only thing is that I'm not too good with computers. I just wanted to know if there's a good book, website, etc. which will help me get acquainted with how to use linux so I can stop asking stupid ass questions on the forums, fumbling through **** for hours, and finally having some say "oh, just type this into terminal and everything will be fine..."?

    Hi Newbrains

(lovely nick). The problem is that this is a very open question, although your description already nails things down quite a bit. What kind of usage do you give to the computer? That would help even more. Many older books focus a lot on the command line, but really very many things can and should be done from a graphical interface these days, at least on a Desktop.

Welcome to Linux and to Kubuntu Forums.

Probably you are running Kubuntu, either 9.04 (Jaunty) or 9.10 (Karmic)
There are lots of sites you could try, such as the Linux Documentation Project http://tldp.org

I would suggest Kubuntu Forums, How To's http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?board=53.0

For specific questions, use the search in Kubuntu Forums.

If you want to know, for example, about other Linux distros, try http://distrowatch.com
