    i installed 180 and it it's not supported so can some one tell me what I need to enter in the console command promt foe an older one or a newer one

      That card is ancient. I doubt you will not find a driver in the Karmic repositories that works. You need to download the driver from the NVIDIA site. Go to the link I provided, select Legacy from the Product Type and find your card or one in the same series as your card. Download the driver to your machine and install it manually. Old hardware is not so easy to configure if you don't know what you are doing and not recommended for new users.

        I think I'll just reinstall I have an acer laptop to do any way amd turon 64x2 ati radeon can I just use the same disc for both

          That might be easier if you just installed. A Live CD or ISO can install to both machines if they share the same architecture. You always have two choices 32 or 64 bit. I finally replaced 32-bit Jaunty with 64-bit Karmic.
