Unable to boot, requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU

    hi!

i've been trying to install kubuntu 9.04 on my desktop pc but i keep getting this message:
"This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for you CPU."

i've downloaded both types of the kubuntu 9.04 installer (64bit/32bit) and burned them on separate dvd-r's. i've tried both, i still get the same message.

i have a pentium 4 processor, and my current OS is windows xp.

    some help pls. thank you.

    Hi

Most likely you burned the 64 bit iso (which will certainly not work). It may sound silly, but could you please double check?
