Re: can't connect to my internet

I don't believe so. The widgets listed are, I believe, already present (as uninstalled apps) on your system.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Have you installed the Network-Manager Plasma Widget yet? If 'no,' click on the Cashew icon in the upper right corner of the screen and then Add Widget... and scroll down until you see this widget. Click it once and then click the Add Widget button. This will put the widget onto the Panel (right side by default). Click it to open and look at the options.
I don't see that widget in the add widget panel...

Re: can't connect to my internet

post the output of these 3 comand's in order

          Code:
          iwconfig
this will show if the system is setup to use your wirless card

          Code:
          ifconfig
this will show if it's up and usable

          Code:
          ifconfig -a
if the last comand dident show it this should.

          then well go from thare.

if you ar in Kubuntu 9.04 JJ the nework manager widget should be thare try looking agin thars a lot of them and thay scrole by fast.........in fact it should be on your panell by default? second or therd from rite at the bottom of screen!!

there's what happened when i typed in those commands vinny. I have a widget called Network Management, not network manager though, i assume they are one and the same? I tried to put the Blue Marble widget on my machine, and I got this response : "This object could not be created for the following reason: OpenGL Shaders not supported." what's this mean?

thanks for all the help once again.

this might sound stupid, but how do I get to that widget, and add it where I can use it or whatever? this whole "widget" idea confuses me.

                i appreciate the help, thanks

Re: can't connect to my internet

Simply left click on the network manager icon, select 'New Network Connection', pick your network from the list, click on 'Connect'.

A popup will open asking for your WEP/WPA key.

Re: can't connect to my internet

ok guys, I did what you guys said like 100000000 times, and it wouldn't connect to the internet.

UNTIL I REALIZED MY WEP CODE IS HEX, NOT PASSPHRASE

                          doh!!!

i put "hex" in and typed it in, and bam I was connected, sweet!

i love it, but konqurer (spelling?) doesn't run really great, are there any other web browsers to try? or can I update it or something? like when I go to yahoo.com it asks me to update my web browser

                          thanks guys!
