[solved] can't connect to my internet

It's picking up the wireless signals, but when I try to connect, it won't. Do I need drivers or something? I have no idea what i'm doing, what do I need to do? thanks!

Please tell us about what you have:

Version of Kubuntu you are running.
Make/model of wireless adapter in your PC
Make/model of wireless router you are trying to connect to (you are at home, yes?)

If you are attempting to connect to a wireless 'hot spot' away from home? If 'yes,' can you connect wirelesly from home?
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

So you are running off of the LiveCD.

            Open a console and type:
            Code:
            lspci | grep Ethernet
(copy and paste the above into the console)

You'll get an output similar to this:
03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)
0a:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation PRO/100 VE Network Connection (rev 02)
Copy and paste the output into your reply.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: can't connect to my internet

I'm not running a live version, I have it installed.

I found my wifi card or whatever, it was

              intel pro wireless 3945abg

i searched for it on google like this "intel pro wireless 3945abg linux driver" and was able to download the driver from intels website.

is that what I was supposed to do?

i'll try copy and pasting my output in a minute, thanks again.

Re: can't connect to my internet

when I type lspci | greg Ethernet it doesn't return anything

when i type just lspci it returns a lot of crap.

Re: can't connect to my internet

                  Not lspci | greg Ethernet. It's lspci | grep Ethernet (grep with a 'p' not a 'g')

Deleted my last post. Misread the output. Yes, you have an internal network controller:
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02)
Have you installed the Network-Manager Plasma Widget yet? If 'no,' click on the Cashew icon in the upper right corner of the screen and then Add Widget... and scroll down until you see this widget. Click it once and then click the Add Widget button. This will put the widget onto the Panel (right side by default). Click it to open and look at the options.
