    /sbin/init error 80

I'm running Kubuntu Dapper and I recently used adept to do a full upgrade. A new kernel was installed so I rebooted and now I get the following error:

    run-init: /sbin/init: error 80
    Kernel Panic - not syncing

What did I do wrong? Any idea how I can get this machine to boot again? This is my main development machine so it is very important - thanks!

I had the same problem. You should be able to hit the "Esc" key when linux begins to reboot. this will take you to a screen that will give you the option of booting on a previous kernel.

This will get you up and running but not sure how you get up and running with a later kernel.
