KRDC is blurry and I cannot take control of it

Has anyone seen this problem? I am trying to take control of a second Kubuntu machine that is ALPHA 5 they are both the same version, the screen is blurry and I cannot seem to get the mouse to respond in the second machine. let me know if you have fixed this. Please know I am new to Linux and don't know the command line very well at all yet.

what are you using as a vnc server on the machine you are trying to take control of?

Sorry i forgot to add, I am using the desktop sharing client in KDE and they are both on the same network (100Mb), I am also telling it to run at high speed, if I run at medium or low it is still same prob but video quality is horrible.

To my (admittedly weak) eyes, your screen shot does not look blurry. It looks like you are getting a "ghost", i.e. a reflection which is causing you to see the same image twice. If your network is wired, it may indicate that your cabling is improperly terminated. I didn't think that happened any more. If your network is wireless it probably indicates that you have a metal object in an unfortunate location slightly out of the direct line of sight between the two computers. Try moving one of the machines and see what happens.

On the other hand, I may be totally off base.

          Thanks for the reply however,

They are on a 100mb LAN (not wireless)
Using the same computers running Windows 7 it works fine.
I have tried it with Mint KDE and same issue

Turn off desktop effects on the machine you're trying to control. Known bug trying to control machines running compositing window managers.

            Hope this helps -

This is definitely a software issue, not a hardware one. I have exactly the same experience with KRDC here.

              Edit: Submitted too quickly

Thanks wizard10000. I will have to try that next time.

Composting on the remote machine is not installed and I have disabled desktop effects under system settings and desktop on both machines and rebooted the remote machine and still the same issue.

Well that sucks. That's what I had to do on my own machines - what's broke on yours must not be the same thing.

I'm gonna go back to my corner and wait for someone who knows what they're talking about to chime in, then

                  good luck -

LOL, well thanks for your help.

I am working with bcooksley over in the KDE forums and he has been having me try several things and so far with no success. I have posted the link below if you want to follow it.

Yeah, I will do that. I am wondering if it might be the NIC driver, but dont know of anyway to check or change it. I might get a different M/B as I would like to have a couple of more SATA slots as well.

Has anyone tried this MB in Linux?
