I recentl;y decided to install Kubuntu on my laptop and wanted to delete it from my desktop. I think I did something wrong: I formatted the second hard drive that had Kubuntu on it using Windows, and now whenever I start the computer, I get a Grub error message and the computer won't boot. Here's where it gets complicated: I don't have the Windows XP Pro CD nor do I have the emergency boot disks. I tried reinstalling Kubuntu on the second hard drive, but I still got the Grub error after the installation was done. Is it possible that I have to reformat the second hard drive using Kubuntu and then reinstall it? If so, how do I do that?

Re: problems uninstalling Kubuntu 9.04
What you need to do is: fixmbr
There are a number of ways to do this
from a Windows disk
from a Linux LiveCD
from a Rescue disk
I think it can be done from e.g DOS or FreeDOS
Have a look at e.g. How to fix your Windows MBR with an Ubuntu liveCD at http://www.arsgeek.com/2008/01/15/ho...ubuntu-livecd/
OK it says Ubuntu, but equally Kubuntu.
