I just installed Kubuntu 9.04 with the sole intent for the machine to play movies.
Installed nicely and were able to find Kpackagekit to install mplayer codecs etc.
Unfortunately I also clicked to install Adobe flash player
Apparently Kpackage kit at the time of writing has a bug and will not install Adobe flash player
see:

Now found a procedure to actually install adobe flash:
http://kubuntu101.blogspot.com/2005/...sh-player.html
but the process was blocked by the previously started intstall :
"dpkg: status database area is locked by another process"
tried running
sudo dpkg --configure -a to complete the configuration of these packages
but the flash installation process would not finish and the hole process just halts.
How do I get rid of an installation that has been initiated but will not finish install?
