Have you either fetched updates, or run 'sudo apt-get update'? This need to be done after making any changes to your sources.list so the package list and database are updated.
which i should have mentioned earlier ;(
I just did a new dapper install on my testing box, and that seemed to fix the problem for me, trying to follow what you had done so far.

@claydoh: hmm... why do I keep on forgetting to say "Hit that Fetch Updates button". It seems that Adept (and I) are very good at assuming that people absolutely know what they are doing. That's very bad...

Hmm... I'm really getting perplexed with your situation, as we have tried every possible solution. I'm not really sure what else to say to help
