I am on 8.04. When I try to load soundjuicer, either from Kmenu or panel, the hourglass keeps turning but SJ never gets loaded. If I restart 8.04 and click on panel, SJ loads, but if I kill SJ then try to load SJ by clicking on panel, it again fails. Could someone help me fix this problem?

Re: Problem loading Soundjuicer
A bit dated, and originally written for Feisty, but read the comments, as at least one commenter said it worked for him with Hardy.

Yes, but it describes what packages to install. Have you checked to see if you have everything that link says is required is in fact installed?Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: Problem loading Soundjuicer
Not that I remember, but if I did try, adept shows I made a mistake. How it appears in Kmenu and not in adept is a mystery. Whaat I would like to do is remove the audio cd extractor which appears in Kmenu (soundjuicer) and start over to install again. Can I do that?

Re: Problem loading Soundjuicer
I have downloaded a recent soundjuicer .deb program which I can install. However I am worried about audio cd extractor appearing in Kmenu since it was probably incorrectly installed and may conflict with new SJ I install. In /usr/bin I find an executable soundjuicer dating from /06/06/08. Should I delete this file and if so what will happen in Kmenu?

Re: Problem loading Soundjuicer
You REALLY shouldn't be messing around with deb files by hand! Please start up your favorite package manager, e.g. Kpackagekit, Synaptic, or (maybe) even Adept. If Sound-juicer is shown as installed, mark it for "complete removable", (including configuration files). This should level the playing field. Then install Sound-juicer from scratch. Also install the "recommended" package (eject). In general, "recommended" packages are actually mandatory. Then review the "suggested" packages, if you actually want to use the program. You will probably want the gstreamer-plugins, Many people use the "ugly" set, but you might want to try the "bad" ones.
