I am on 8.04. Just tried to rip a CD with KAC and got message "cannot place file, unable to make directories" File prescription in KAC was specified as /MUSIC/HAYDN/Chamber. What gives?

it probabley isent abel to make a dir. in /.......the root directorey.
try /home/you/music/
and replace you with your user name.

If what you show above is litterally what you had as the destination location, it would mean you are writting the results to /MUSIC/HAYDON/Chamber on the root partition. Of course, if that directory doesn't exist, the procedure will fail.Originally posted by ahurd
As vinnywright pointed out, if this directory exists in your /home directory, you need to change the destination to ~/MUSIC/HAYDN/ChamberWindows no longer obstructs my view.
