How to have different widgets on different desktops???
Zoom out by clicking on the desktop cashew and a new toolbox will open. Click on "Configure Plasma" then check the box "Different activity for each virtual desktop". Click on OK and you are done.
After this you could have "different widgets per virtual desktop" or "different wallpaper per virtual desktop".
Go to the desktop and add the widgets/change the wallpaper.

Could you please tell me what is the 'use a seperate dashboard' option?
Normally, dashboard will bring up your widgets on your desktop (if covered by windows). Separate dashboard should allow you to have different widgets on your dashboard and desktop.
The default keyboard shortcut for dashboard is Ctrl+F12.
Re: How to have different widgets on different desktops
Thank you a lot!
By the way kde rocks. It will be undoubtedly the future desktop!!!
Though it lacks some features I would like to see....
As in example :
When kwin shows me the previews of applications I have open I'd like to choose them
just like windows 7 does .With scrolling the mouse and choosing.....
I have been thinking for this feature before seeing it in ms w7.
I don't envy w7 by noway ,I'm just wondering the reason why we did not have it first!

Hey, Rog131 -
Apparently, it takes more than just KDE 4.3 to allow this, as I am running KDE 4.3.1 in Intrepid Ibex, but this 'feature' isn't available when clicking on the desktop cashew. To bad. I'm not ready to upgrade to Karmic, but I miss the multiple wallpapers per virtual desktop that we had back in the KDE 3.5.10 days.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
