Installing kubuntu 9.04

There are two options while installing Kubuntu , the first is the demo in which you can install the software from kubuntu desktop . And the second in which you can install kubuntu like application through windows .
I would like to ask you which of these options are better to use ?

If you wish to keep your windows, go with second one. IF you don't need it any more, first one.

You can use first option to make computer dual butable with two full speed operating systems, too. But you must learn something how to do it.

IF you are fortunate enough to own a licensed Windows INSTALL CD then you can try either method. However, if your OEM CD is only a RECOVERY CD and you use the second option and later decide that Linux isn't for you, then you are hosed. If you want to return to Windows it will co$t you.

So, if you have only recovery CDs and want to hold open the option of returning to Windows install as a dual boot.

While I advocate abandoning Windows for a variety of reasons, most technical, some political, there are instances where that is not possible ... if you have need of an application which is not currently available under Linux, for example. (Photoshop is NOT that application, neither is AutoDesk) So, if that is not the case then for the sake of your wallet, your personal info, your credit rating, etc.,,,, replacing Windows entirely with Linux is the route to go.

For many Windows applications using CodeWeaver's CrossOver WINE application will allow you to run that application under Linux without installing Windows as a guest OS using VMWare, VirtualBox, qemu or other VM engines. (To avoid messing up your Linux mime settings don't install Windows media tools under CrossOver, no matter how tempting it is.)
