Problem with the trash in 9.04

I can't move anything into the trash it seems.... I get an error message saying that the trash is full and to manually remove trash items... But there is nothing in the trash folder when I open it up.

Is there some way that I can fix this? I am using kubuntu 9.04 on a newer intel laptop...

you may be runing out of disk space.

post the output of

df

you can delete eneything and bypass the trash can by highlighting the file or folder and hold down shift wile you hit delete.............and poof it's gone for good.

I don't think that it's the disc space though.. This is a pretty fresh install and I think I dedicated around 200GB to the Kubuntu partition..

Maybe you should check the MD5 Sum for your Kubuntu Install CD... I noticed some weird bugs appeared when I installed 9.04 on my system like shutdown option not working properly and it was due to some errors on the installation disc... I had to burn a new copy and now shutdown, reboot and some other options work fine.

BTW, have you checked if the available space just for the trash can is higher than 0 MB or GB? It might be that the limit that was setup is too low...
