    Any Window is appearing slowly

I have added Kubuntu from ppa to experience KDE 4.3.

But after observing for about two days I am finding one problem which is making it difficult to work smoothly.

While I am really enjoying the plasma theme, the problem is, I am finding KWIN behaving too slow compared to, when I am in Gnome.

For example, let's say I have kept open the file manager (Dolphin) and also have opened Firefox to view any website. Now while viewing the file manager, if I click on the Firefox tab from the panel, it takes some time before the Firefox window appears with the content.

Similarly if I switch over to OpenOffice (which is also open) spreadsheet from Firefox again it takes too much time in comparison to Gnome. It seems everything is sluggish. I thought this may be due to some desktop effect so I even tried without the desktop effects but that didn't change anything.

As because I am also working on Gnome, I noted thatin the same hardware configuration (PC configuration) there is no such problem.

I even tried increasing my RAM to 4GB but even then the experience is same.

Is there anything that I can do at my end to get rid of this problem?

    Please help.

Sounds like graphics issues to me - try turning off desktop effects (System Settings/Display) and see if that resolves your problem. I'm betting it will

I tried that earlier and again I tried it now. There was not much of a difference. Moreover if I put off then there is a strange black background showing up against the Cairo Dock.

As I said earlier in Gnome under same configuration I have absolutely no problem. I am using Compiz there without any trouble.

But I agree this may be some kind of graphics issue.
