Hi
I just got a new acer laptop a while ago, and I ("I" here being mainly my brother, who knows how to properly partition a hard drive. Uses arch though, so he can't help me) promptly partitioned it. In the process I found a couple problems.
My sound is not working. The start-up has sound (designating that the computer is shuting off or starting up has sound) and my vista partition has sound, but I can't seem to get sound in my Kubuntu partition (no amarok, youtube, whatever, its all silent). Needless to say, this problem is incredibly vague and I am incredibly new, but I don't even know where to start looking to fix it.
When I put my computer to sleep or lock it and then wake it up, I no longer have Internet access. The computer asks me for my hex key, then proceeds to search for my own network until it gives up. Oddly, this problem disappears if I restart the computer. I was curious if this something to do with the kwallet, since I might have saved the hex key in there.
Finally, my acer has a button that allows me to turn of the touch pad mouse. If you press the button again, however, it is supposed to turn the touch pad mouse back on, which it doesn't. Do I need a driver or program to fix this?
Thanks, and I'll try to provide any other information I neglected to say due to lack of knowledge.
