    Can't find intalled file

    Hi,

I've downloaded and installed successfully several packages, eg Gimp, Audacity, Firefox 3.5
    But,
Having downloaded and installed GTKMorph, I can't find it anywhere in Applications. Not in Graphics, or Multimedia, or anywhere else I've looked.
How do I find it and get it listed as an application?
Or have I gone sadly astray somewhere?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike.

Most things, but not all, will appear on the Menu. Some times you have to edit the Menu and add it yourself. Begin by RIGHT clicking on the KMenu.

Otherwise choose "Run Program" or press Alt+F2 and type the name, or type the name in a Terminal...

You say that you have downloaded and installed programs Have you used a Package Manager for this? If not then you are doing it the hard way. See "Top 20 Kubuntu FAQs & Answers" at http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3099811.0 - scroll down to #11a and 11b.

      Thanks.
Alt+F2 and typing gtkmorph did the trick.
However I didn't have success editing the menu as I couldn't find the file gtkmorph in Home, root or anywhere.

And yes, I did use a Package Manager,

      Thanks again,

      Mike.

You don't have to enter the path for the menu item, just 'gtkmorph' (as it works from Alt+F2, this means the executable is installed in a directory in your $PATH...most likely /usr/bin/gtkmorph)

If you wish to find the path for an executable, you can simply run 'which gtkmorph' in konsole.
