[Solved] Configuring Konqueror for web browsing - any tips?

    Hi,
Well I installed 9.04 about a month ago. I'm not feeling too good about Konqueror. Here's yahoo ... looks terrible! What am I missing? Just had a rough time connecting to a live chat site.

Does anyone have a good page for tips on configuration?

    Thanks,
    Alex

      Yahoo & Konqueror at here:

      Tools > Change Browser Identification...
      > Topic: Beginner's Questions

      Adblock

Konqueror > Settings > Configure Konqueror > AdBlocK Filters
      > Topic: Konqueror - wrong display of web-sites

      Youtube

      konqueror + konqueror-nsplugins + flashplugin-installer
      > Topic: youtube using konqueror

      Java

Konqueror > Settings > Configure Konqueror > Java & JavaScript
      > Topic: [solved]Java, firefox and konqueror

When you change the Konqueror settings it would be good to clear the cache & cookies.

Useful add ons from the repositories:

      konqueror-plugin-adblock, Adblock plugin for konqueror
konqueror-plugin-khtmlsettings, KHTML configuration plugin for konqueror
      konqueror-plugin-minitools, Bookmarklets plugin for konqueror
      konqueror-plugin-rellinks, Re-linker plugin for konqueror
konqueror-plugin-searchbar, Search bar plugin for konqueror
konqueror-plugin-uachanger, User-agent changer plugin for konqueror
      ++ many others

and if you want to use the webkit with the Konqueror

      webkitkde, WebKit KPart for Konqueror
After installation: Konqueror > Settings > Configure Konqueror > File Assosiciations > (.html) > Embedding Service Preference Order => Webkit

      > Topic: Webkit
      Before you edit, BACKUP !

I'm not feeling too good about Konqueror.
Your question sounds like you are forced to use Konqueror. If you like, you can install Firefox from repository or download Opera from www.opera.com. Firefox works fine, but Opera has now issue with flash sound. You can have both like me.
Kubuntu 16.04 on two computers and Kubuntu 17.04 on DELL Latitude 13

changing browser ID to opera 9 and disabeld addblock ...cleard the cake and cookies....(with a big glass of milk) .....and now yahoo displays fine. and youtube dose well.

Thanks - I'll take a closer look at the links tonight. I've had good experiences with Konqueror in the past so getting it going again would suit me fine. To those who suggest Firefox, Opera thanks for the suggestions. Of course, that's always an option!

Thanks - browser identification and releasing adblock does the trick -- apparently Yahoo is nothing but ads
