Unable to access kubuntu after windows install

Hi all,
I recently had kubuntu 8.10 and windows xp.. both installed and used to dual boot thru GRUB. Some days ago i had to format C: drive.. having xp on it. after reinstalling xp though, i'm unable to access GRUB loader as the system directly starts loading XP. How can i get it back??

Windows has written its own boot loader to the MBR of the hard drive.

You can re-install Grub, following Qqmike's instructions:
