    files and folders on desktop in 9.04

    here's a simple question for you: can i put files and/or folders on the desktop and how ? i like the widgets too but i want to have a combination of files, folders and widgets on the desktop.

    put the files and folders you want in your /home/you/desktop folder and then drag and drop onto the screen and chose folder view when asked.

      yeah...i already did that and a widget will appear like an open folder and in it there will be the files and folders, but that's not what i want , is there any other way to do it ?

          mebbe what u want is.....

          1. right click on desktop -> Desktop Settings
          2. Under Desktop Activity -> Type -> choose 'Folder View'

          This way u can have both files/folders in desktop plus widgets...
