    Kubuntu on my new laptop?

    I am considering thehttp://support.packardbell.com/no/item/index.php?i=platform_mana_gmw&g=1400
(redirected from Norwegian PB site. All in english as far as I know)

Guess the t4200 and the 4gb of ram can handle it but what about the NIC and the GFX adapter.

    NIC:
Intel WiFi Link 5100 (might be the AzureWave AW-GE780, but I doubt it.

    GPU:
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470

I have read around but not found anything special (might be my bad search skils) Anything else on the computer that might become a snag, soundcard perhaps?

for the ATI, unless you plan to use 3D acceleration, the open source driver will give you superb multimedia (flash, hulu, etc). For 3D you need the ATI binary driver which has had sooo many issues in 9.04. But when it works it's fantastic.

Yes, sound can be an issue too.
