Version: 9.04 (Jaunty Jakalope) v Hardy Heron

I use just a few applications such as Firefox and OpenOffice

But I use them a lot.

What pluses does Jaunty bring that Hardy hasn't got ?

More easyy to install applications ?

    More printer drivers embedded ?

    Faster wakeup/shut down time ?

Greater stability with multiple Firefox windows?

    More Browsers ?

    Any comments greatly appreciated !

    A very curious,

    Tim

if all your going to use the system for is openoffice and firefox it does not really matter what one you go with... i have had both on my laptop and there basicly the same, for speed and compatibility, for most people it boils down to if you can "use" kde4. only using firefox and openoffice you should not have major issues.

Personally, I was going to advise you to stay with Hardy. KDE4 has a very different "look and feel" from KDE3. Even the default file manager is different! You will have to get used to the differences just to start programs which HAVEN'T changed. If you REALLY only need Open Office and Firefox (and maybe a few other things), I'd stick with what works.
