Create VPN and Remote desktop connection to Windows

Hello,
I have installed Kubuntu and now I want to create VPN conection to my workplace. When VPN connection is established I want to create a remote desktop connetion to a specific computer in the vpn network.
I tried to create VPN in System settings->Network Settings->Network Management. There I selected VPN and put host, login and password. It shows that conection is in the list, but last used is set to never. I cannot find any connect/disconnect buttons. Is it the right way to establish a VPN or I must install some other software for creating VPN?

I have already found a solution. I have installed KVpnc with GUI. VPN is established and remote desktop connection is created via KRDC (Applications->Internet->Remote Desktop Client). All is working now.
