Hi all
Until the last version of (k)ubuntu I used
pmount /dev/sdb1 /media/mydisk
to mount an USB stick from the command line. Since I have a lot of shell scripts using this type of command-line mounting
for USB devices (which is very fast by the way) I would be happy if that worked also in Kubuntu 9.04. However, that is not the case anymore (at least not in my installation). After pluggin in the USB I get the following message upon typing
pmount /dev/sdb1 /media/mydisk
Error: device /dev/sdb1 is not removable
On the other hand when the message appears:
"devices recently plugged in: ...
If I do not click on the label appearing (causing dolphin to start, which takes a lot of time) I cannot access the USB.
Any ideas how to turn off the automounter in this case?
Any help is welcome. Thanks
