Skype high cpu, i think its audio

I'm using pulsar audio because my regular audio keeps dying or erroring out or something.

Skype uses 40% cpu idle. I need to know if this is because of audio or what.. *sigh*.

If it is audio can someone link me to a audio setup guide?. Mine works but optimization is the key.

You might start by issuing the command:
    top
to see what is top of the list any using all the juice...

I was using system activity actually. Same thing for the most part. Top shows 77% CPU usage for skype.real when using sound/microphone. after the call is ended cpu goes back to 0-1%.

Pretty sure its the sound driver. Any alternatives to the default install?. (And its not a weak system. dual core X2 6000+ 3.0Ghz, 2GB ram.)
