    keyboard gone mad? Its like "1" is being pressed

    Please help!

    I turned on PC and everywhere number 1 is written randomly.
    I open OpenOffice Writer I just look (without pressing anything) and number 1 starts to be written in random periods (every 5 seconds or so).1
    The same happens in each place where I can write to. Even now (but I 1am deleting the ones).

    This is 1an example of 1normal typing 1without deleting t1he ones.1

    Its really painful.

    I'm not sure that I follow. Are these 1s appearing in ALL apps, or ONLY in Open Office Writer? Does it happen only in Linux, or in windoze as well? Do you have another keyboard that you can plug in, in order to make sure that it's not some weird hardware/software interaction?

        I have typical wired keyboard and in happens in all applications only in kubuntu. And it happens also when I unplug the keyboard. Can I delete the keyboard driver and reinstall it somehow? If yes, how?

        I have win on second HDD and it doesnt have this issue. Day before I didnt exeprience this.

        It is impossible to work.

          The first thing I'd try is K>"System Settings" > "Keyboard and Mouse" > then uncheck "enable keyboard repeat". If that doesn't work, I'd try "System Settings" > "Regional & Language" > "Keyboard Layout", and fool around with the settings in there. For example, an inappropriate setting on the "keyboard model" list could cause a failure to communicate.

            well, maybe I look now like an idiot, but the computer is ok by now. I gave up and turned off the computer. Next day everything was fine. I really dont understand. Anyway thanks for help.
