can not run alien command

I have just installed Dapper 6.06.My problem is I downloaded a couple of rpm's.Then i found out about the alien command.
When i run the command i get a command not found,have tried diff. combos but all the same even alien + the help command . how do i go about installing the command.comleteley lost.Thank for the help

You trying to install MySQL Client 5.0 from an RPM? There's one in the repositories, in case you didn't see it. It's name is mysql-client-5.0 in the main repositories. It will be a lot easier for you if you just use that. But if you insist...

Looks like you don't have the packages rpm and alien installed. Install them first:

sudo apt-get install rpm alien

Btw, you don't need to take a screenshot of the konsole to post the output. Just highlight the text you want to copy, right click and select copy. then you can paste them here.
