    problem booting kubuntu

hey guys, ive just started using kubuntu, but 2day for some reason i cant seem to load it.

from grub ive selected kubuntu, then i login with my user name and pass. it then projects the load screen and when that do, the screen turns white, and then black/dark grey.. which it will remain there with a curser.

i have no idea why the hell it does this today. it was loving it until to day

    hope someone can help?

Check the link to the faq in my signature. It sounds very much like you have updated something relating to your graphic card and it is not working properly. So, in the faq, look for the entry on "envy" - take it from there.

Don't worry about that step. First let's try and find out which graphic card you have. Do the ALT+CTRL+F1 bit and type

        Code:
        lspci | grep VGA
        Post the output here, please.

Another option would be to try a new .kde folder. You could do a:

        Code:
        mv ~/.kde ~/.kde.bak
Now press ALT+CTRL+F7 to go back to kdm and attempt to login again.
