    Password / user name issue

I was trying to install Kubuntu on my computer and for whatever reason it did not work. So I wanted to run it from the disc and I am getting a prompt for user name and password. What should I be typing in at this time if my install didn't even work?

This does not seem logical to me. When you tried to install did you set up a username and password? If you established these, have you tried them?

      I don't understand

Is there some linux installation on the computer allready Did your kubuntu install start
Is there an other operating system at the harddisk Or does it come from BIOS

More information I think we need

If you have a console from bash, you can try this:

      sudo passwd root
      (Typ your new password)
      (Type again your password)

You will not see anny character coming on the screen if you type the password!

Annyway I don't understand the problem
