Sorry I wasn't clear. I mean the advanced settings within wicd itself. So double click on the icon and at the bottom of the pane where you see the networks you will see a tick-box to open the advanced settings dialog. You can set up your encryption from in there.
ok, when I'm in Advanced the only usefull options are: Special Window settings, and special application settings. but In these I don't find anything related to encryption.
Since you have run wicd there should be an icon in you systray. Click that to open wicd. If it is not there Applications->Internet->wicd.
Now click on the line that has your essid and it will open to show an "Advanced Setting" button select that. Check Use Encryption, Select the encryption technology you want to use.
That's the problem. In these settings I can use WEP, EAP etc. But whatever I choose, I can only enter 12 symbols into the key line.
How can I expand the key field to 26?
I can only choose between
WAP 1/2 Passphrase
Wap 1/2 Preshared Key
Wep Hex
Wep Passphrase
Wep shared/restricted
Leap with wep
ttls with wep
Eap-Fast
Peap with GTC
Peap with Tkip
Eap-Tls
None of these offers space for a 128bit code (26symbols)
IIRC or ASCII are not an option.
