One last thing.Is this the only way of detecting it- I mean working with usb 1.1(feels a bit slow),especially that other devices work without any problems.

What I read seemed to indicate it was a cabling problem. It seems that the shorter your cables, both internal and external, the better a chance you have of it working. I suspect that adding a newer usb card might help also, or maybe just better cables.
