cannot get kubuntu 8.10 to boot

I have downloaded Kubuntu 8.10 and when I go to reboot it only goes to a prompt about 1 minute into the installation and then stops.
Can anyone hel;p me out on this. I have tried changing VGA= and it does not seem to help at all.

Hi, try this:

Kmenu > System > System Settings > Advanced > Session Manager

Check the options there "Confirm logout options", look at what else is selected or not selected and modify if needed.
