    Wireless problem: Broadcam Corporation BCM4309

    hello,

I have a problem connecting to the internet through Wireless and my Ethernt connection is not working. It is corrupted. I used to have the wlano working, but not anymore! I have the driver but it refuses to connect!

My card infos: Network controller: Broadcam Corporation BCM4309 802.11a/b/g (rev 03)

I tried many troubleshooting techniques with no benefit. I tried:

    1. ifconfig
msg: loop back address information "lo"
    2. iwconfig
    msg: no wireless extension
    3. lspci
It doesn't display infos about the broadcam

I can't copy past directly as the computer have no connection and I'm using another PC.

I will appreciate any further help!!

Re: Wireless problem: Broadcam Corporation BCM4309

It installed the application called wicd and removed the application called network-manager

        sudo - super user rights
aptitude - a package manager called Aptitude
        install
wicd - a wired and wireless network manager

the stock "network-manager" and "knetwork-manager" confilct w/ the wicd package.. and therefore they need to be removed. its completly normal.

            Hello again,

I still have the problem. Before, I used to execute the command each time I boot the kubuntu and then re-boot. But now, even with that proceedure, it is not working!

P.S I only use your command, but I didn't remove anything! BTW, have the
            same problem in Windows.
