When I want to use the Search feature of KHelpCenter, only "UNIX manual pages" is listed. Underneath, there is a button labeled Build Search Index.
Clicking that, there is a window where I can check "Application Manuals", which I do, and then click the Build Index button.
I get a popup which goes from 0% to 100%, but when I then choose Close, I come back in the Search pane with only "UNIX manual pages" available.
When I go through the procedure again and click the Details button after the Build Index, I see the following message:
INDEXDIR: /home/peter/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/
FINDCMD: find /usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/ -name index.docbook
Creating index for 'kde_application_manuals'
htdig failed
Which is plain abracadabra for non-wizards. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong?
(Okay, I guess the interface developer deserves a mayor spanking for not showing an error message when something goes wrong, and not being helpfull when error details are displayed, but that doesn't help me now...)
