I am having various issues relating to screen resolution. Some of these issues have been there since I first installed Intrepid, others have crept up so I have not noticed when/how they started.
The biggest problem is that the login screen is at a larger res than my screen can display. This only happens when I activate the restricted ATI drivers, if I do not activate them KDE WILL NOT RUN. When they are activated I cannot see the bottom or right edge of the login screen so I cannot choose my session type, I'm now stuck in a fluxbox session.
The next biggest problem is that my resolution once logged in is wrong on startup so I have to go into the ATI catalyst tool every time I log in - this is just plain annoying.
I also find when I can get into KDE with restricted drivers running, every time I open an app that uses root privileges, compiz bombs out and I have to re-start the WM - also quite annoying.
