Ok I just burned the most recent version of Kubuntu on to a CD-RW, and I set up my computer to boot from the CD drive, but when I boot up it gives me an error saying "Windows did not boot up correctly" or something like that. It gives me the option to start windows normally or to start in safe mode, etc. I have an HP pavillion zv5000 laptop with 42 Gigabytes of memory. Please tell me what I should do.

Re: Problem Booting From CD
I had this same problem yesterday.
First I tired changing the BIOS options on my computer to boot from the CD drive first. This didn't work.
On my CD I had a file SBM.bin (Smart Boot Manager). I downloaded a windows application called Rawrite and created a smart boot floppy using the SMB file. I then booted with this in th efloppy drive and the Kubuntu in the CD drive.
This allowed me to boot of the CD drive. I found the instructions to do this elsewhere in the Forum. It seems a common problem.
Good luck

Re: Problem Booting From CD
Did you do a checksum of the ISO before you burned it?
Did you burn as a disk image and not as data?
Did you burn at a slow speed?
If these questions make no sense to you, see this:
