My distro can not connect to internet anymore.. checking the network manager he will not see my card.. however the card works in windows

what kind of card are we talking about here, wired / wireless,
does lshw show your network device having an attached driver ?
also have you done a kernel update recently ?
the reason i ask is depending on you card (madwifi cards most notably) tend to lose there driver after kernel updates. if this applys to you check out this link
