    Parental Control

Does anyone know of a parental control other than "DansGuardian" that is available for Kubuntu (or Ubuntu)? Thanks, Lou

A different way of doing it is to use OpenDNS as your DNS. See http://www.opendns.com/solutions/k12/

      Is OpenDNS free also?

Can you give me a general idea on how to load it?
Is it just for a DNS server or can it be for a desktop?
Not sure if this is comparable to a regular Windows DNS server application or if it's even remotely related.

      Remember... I'm a newbie!

Thanks in advance for any info.
I appreciate all that you folks are doing for our community.

OpenDNS is free. If you look at https://www.opendns.com/start/ you will see that it can be in a computer, in a router or in a DNS server.

In a computer look at https://www.opendns.com/start/ which gives the Ubuntu instructions.

In a router there are router specific instructions at https://www.opendns.com/start/router/ and general instructions at https://www.opendns.com/start/device/router

When you have registered it will give you options to block different things.

          A -

          Thanks so much!
I will try this and I'll post back to you again after that.

Can you guide me on how to install the DansGuardian thing?
Just generally - I don't want to take too much of your time.
          Thanks.
