    Installing OO Base

Hi all - can anyone help??

I have two installations of Kubuntu 8.10 from same CD. On the Desktop one I have installed OO Base and am using it. On the newer Laptop installation I can not find, see, or install Base at all!!!?? It does not show-up in 'Add/Remove Software'. Both repository files are the same.

How do I cure this please??

    Thanks - Ian

    Re: Installing OO Base

OO base is part of openoffice and so far as I am aware you cannot have it without at least the core openoffice suite.

So I think you need to install openoffice.

      Re: Installing OO Base

I had a similar problem, and went through multiple installs (for other reasons).

At least for this particular problem, I was able to address it by creating a launch icon (see Pic 1) that launched the OpenOffice suite as a whole (see Pic 2). From there, I could select any of the applications within the suite.

      Hope this helps!
