Putting release 8.04.1 (Hardy Heron) onto a new laptop but...

but which make and model is known to be ok...

Now new means new to me so a model a year or two old is fine/preferred !

Any thoughts very welcome !

Lots of facts but a consensus view such as Dell 620 Laptop ....would help loads...
