Linux is full of choices, I know. Currently I am typing this from Konqueror. I was playing around last night after this install of 8.10. I was trying to check my bank account and realized I needed Flash. No big deal there, I would need Flash no matter which browser I used. (still have to learn to install it) Firefox always worked well but it is not default with Kubuntu. That also is OK, I can install it. I guess, what I want to know is which browser currently works the best. I am looking for speed. I post on several forums. For instance, I tried Google Chrome in windows but it acts up when posting in forums for me. But it was really fast. I haven't had any problems with Konqueror, but then I really haven't used it much. I never liked Internet Explorer in Windows, I remember Opera was pretty quick but I didn't use it much.
I also am curious about whether to use the older KDE 3, or the newer KDE 4, I think I can get by with either one. I'm not that experienced with either one. KDE 3 seems like it might be a little simpler to use right now though. (Should this be a separate thread?) I have decided for certain that I don't like Gnome too much, but I like KDE a lot.
I will be using this computer mostly for listening to CD's, audio files, watching video files and DVD's.
I need to learn a bit about e-mail as well. I always just used Hotmail before, but I want to learn more about using some of the other email features.
I guess, in some ways I know a bit about computers hardware wise, but don't really know how to use them like a power user.
