Ok so i got an interesting problem. i came to this forum because i'm a windows guy and decided to put kubuntu 7.10 on my ps3.
everything went great and as anticipated untill..........
i boot up, and my lcd is set up like i have two monitors, meaning its divided in half, reminds me of when your in windows and your trying to hook up two monitors and it only recognizes one monitor and that monitor is divided in half
if that wasnt clear at all(because im a windows guy) here let me make it way easier to understand what im trying to say.
when i move my cursor all the way to the right it appears on the left side of my hdtv. however, if i want to move it to the left i am blocked off by a invisable line. so basicly its like i have two desktops, or one divided one.
im assuming something got messed up bad in the resolution department. and i did search a little bit on this issue and couldnt find anybody that had the same problem. oh yeah, i didnt mess around with ANYTHING. it just booted into this.
Also this is the link that helped me out during my install if it is relevant at all
http://ikerspot.blogspot.com/2007/10...ty-on-ps3.html
when i was installing, i selected all resolutions to be installed, just because i wasnt sure which ones off the top of my head my tv would support, and i figured that the more i installed the less screwed i could end up if i installed the wrong one . by the way, i have a sony bravia 32'' 1080p hdtv if that helps at all.
so heres all the stuff you guys can probably interpret better than i can, when i go to system settings>monitor and display i have something interesting...
"The Module Monitor & Display could not be loaded"
Diagnositics:
"An Error Occured during your last KDE Upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
You have old third party modules lying around"
Alright...so something didnt install right, im guessing. What do i need to edit to make it work
could i pull off of my iso whatever file is jacked up or is it messed up in the coding? this is where you guys come in, because im used to throwing my os cd in and repairing it that way.
thanks in advance for your help, if you need any more info im sure i can nab it
