    Can't play movies

    Hey All,

I am using Kubuntu 8.10 with KDE 4.2 and I can't play any movies. I have tried both Dragon and VLC. I am not sure if the issue is realted to the fact that my SATA DVD player is detected as a USB device. In either case I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Have you installed the Medibuntu Repository and do you have libdvdcss2?

If you have Adept Manager or Synaptic open, close it. Running sudo apt-get from a console requires that no other adept program be running.
