    how to run commands [Solved]

    Hi,

Im new and totally inexperienced and new to Kubuntu. I want to play midi files on Amarok - so i copy and paste an intsruction into the command box (from another thread) to download Audacious and the Sudo Apt logo appears - which looks good - but when i click on that - the whole command box all disappears and nothing happens?

Ive tried searching on this and not found anything. I just have a pentioum 4 'puter (ex-windows 98) and i have this lateast Kubuntu 8.10.

    Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Rob

    Re: sudo apt doesnt work?

    Hi Rob,

did you enter this command in the run box or in Konsole?

Press ALT+F2 to invoke the run box.
    Type "konsole" and hit enter.
A terminal will start, you can enter the command there, I think it is
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install audacious
    right?

Please let us know if this answers your question.

I have not heard of Amarok playing midi files, but here's a place to start your studies:

I was putting them in the run box not in Konsole. The instructions given are fine. Thanks.

The Audacious program doesnt seem to work... it has a warning as being incompatible with some systems..
